Gaining its “Royal” prefix in 1838, Leamington Spa was a favourite of a newly crowned Queen Victoria. Hardly known before the discovery of it’s Spa waters it underwent a transformation from village to society hotspot in a matter of years.

Today it’s Georgian town houses and Parade hint at its former glory. Be sure to feed the ducks in Jefferson Gardens and inspect the Queen Victoria Statue that was pushed an inch across its plinth by a German Bomb.

Local hotels and bars are as usual plentiful with options available in the town centre and outskirts allowing a base for the start and end of treasure hunt .
