Looking for a team building activity packed with strategy, suspicion and laugh-out-loud moments? Welcome to The Mole – ClueGo’s Traitors-inspired outdoor adventure where trust is tested, alliances are questioned, and nobody is quite sure who is working against them. This is not your standard corporate team day.
The Mole takes the excitement of an interactive GPS treasure hunt and adds a brilliant twist: hidden saboteurs are working from inside the teams. Your group must complete challenges, score points, and climb the leaderboard, all while trying to work out who can and cannot be trusted.
What Is The Mole?
Inspired by the hit TV show, The Traitors, The Mole is an immersive outdoor team building game designed to create tension, teamwork, deception, and plenty of memorable moments. At the start of the event, each participant secretly selects a card. Most cards are blank, but a few reveal a hidden role: The Mole.
If you are a regular team member, your mission is simple: complete as many GPS challenges as possible and help your team win. But if you are The Mole, your goal is very different. You need to quietly sabotage your own team’s progress without getting caught. The result? A fast-paced adventure filled with paranoia, strategy, and hilarious accusations.
How The Mole Works
Once the briefing begins, the suspicion starts. Teams are sent into the game zone armed with iPads and a map full of GPS hotspots. Each hotspot unlocks a challenge, puzzle, task, or interactive mission. The more your team completes, the more points you score.
But there is one big problem. Somewhere in your team, there may be a Mole. The Mole’s job is to subtly slow things down, suggest bad decisions, waste time, mislead the group, or cause just enough confusion to keep the team from reaching the top of the leaderboard.
At the end of the game, teams return to the event base for the final verdict. They must decide whether they had a Mole in their team and, if so, correctly identify them. A correct accusation earns valuable bonus points. But if The Mole stays hidden, the team loses points and The Mole claims their own secret victory.
Why The Mole Is Perfect For Team Building
The Mole is more than just a fun outdoor game. It is a clever, high-energy team building experience that gets people talking, thinking, and working together in a completely different way. It is ideal for teams that want something more memorable than a traditional activity, as it encourages:
- Communication under pressure
- Creative problem solving
- Strategic thinking
- Leadership and decision-making
- Trust, suspicion and negotiation
- Friendly competition
- Plenty of humour and team bonding
Because the game blends physical exploration with mental challenges, it works brilliantly for a wide range of groups. You don’t need to be super fit, overly competitive, or an expert puzzle solver. Everyone can get involved, contribute, and enjoy the drama.
The Mole Code
Being The Mole is not as easy as it sounds. Sabotage too obviously and your team will quickly turn against you. Stay too quiet and you may miss the chance to influence the game. The best Mole is subtle, persuasive, and just chaotic enough to cause damage without raising too much suspicion.
A good Mole must:
- Stay undercover – If your team suspects you too early, they will stop listening to your advice.
- Be subtle – The best sabotage looks like an innocent mistake, a wrong turn, or a bad suggestion.
- Deny everything – Even if the accusations start flying, a true Mole never gives up the game until the final reveal.
What Makes The Mole Different?
The Mole adds an extra layer of excitement to the classic team treasure hunt format. Instead of simply racing against other teams, your group must also question what is happening within its own ranks.
Is someone genuinely confused, or are they deliberately wasting time? Was that wrong answer an honest mistake or part of a bigger plan? Should you trust the person leading the route or are they taking you in completely the wrong direction?
This creates a brilliant mix of teamwork and tension. People who are usually quiet may become master strategists. Natural leaders may suddenly find their decisions questioned. Friendly colleagues may become prime suspects. It’s all part of the fun.
