The brief
A development program for young adults across three days in London focusing on self – leadership, problem solving, gamified learning and creating structure for internal motivation.”
Our client had a very specific brief but was open to ideas and suggestions to make a tailor made interactive experience.
There were some key themes that needed to run throughout the whole event; get inspired by extraordinary people; building self-awareness and experiment with finding your path.
L & D - Day 1
To kick start the two day experience, there was an inspiring talk from a well known Formula 1 driver. This really hit the theme of ‘get inspired by extraordinary people’, the talk was about the highs and the lows of fame and how to overcome struggles.
The guests were international and wanted to incorporate a quintessentially British element to their event. What better way to do this than with an MI6 quest in St James Park led by our app.
This quest was not only showing off some British history and famous London landmarks, but creating a journey of self discovery through initiative tests, leadership tasks and problem solving skills along the way.
As a lunch time stop the teams were tasked with finding their way to Borough Market where they had to meet one of the event team and receive a meal voucher and well earned half time break.
By 16.00 the MI6 quest came to a close with the teams reporting to the final destination at Sea Containers. The guests were then tasked to focus on three things; reflection, feedback and mindfulness based on the experiences from the morning session. This fed more into the ‘building self awareness’ objective due to the group setting in front of their peers.
L & D - Day 2
At 09.30 day 2 started with the final key theme that ran throughout the client’s event ‘experiment finding your path’, now this is where we really got to showcase the ClueGo app in all its glory.
Creating a custom theme and bespoke content is what we love to do, so the content team really got stuck in and worked closely with the client every step of the way to keep in line with their themes.
To do this, we created an interactive map showcasing various locations around London, it was up to the teams to decide which path to take. This encouraged decision making, forward planning and time management.
Not only did the teams have to experiment with finding their paths throughout London they also had to complete a series of in-game objectives based on a sustainability theme. Sustainability was also another subject close to the clients company values.
There were virtual objects to collect at various locations around the city that once collected would allow them to unlock a special task at another location but not within walking distance.
Although collecting some of these virtual objects could take the teams off the most direct route, it gave them the opportunity to strategise and encourage team work.
This final day concluded with a speed boat adrenaline ride along the Thames to see London from a different perspective and a brilliant way to end a very busy 2 days.
Conclusion
The event was a great success, our client was incredibly happy with the outcome and the participants had excellent feedback with big smiles all round.
It was a fantastic way to learn and develop in an interactive, gamified creative structure.
